Do crystal balls work?
Crystal ball gazing or "scrying" is a method of attempting to see the future. Users focus on the ball in an attempt to reach an altered state of mind. Once this is reached, users form pictures in their head, which they learn to interpret. Therefore the crystal ball becomes purely an accessory, which negates any alleged power it holds.
There are no rituals necessary for their use, unless the user desires it and this is purely to focus the mind inwards, in much the same way that bowls of water or mirrors may be used. The crystal ball itself holds no power, only that of drawing the user into a trance-like state.
Is it really necessary to know the future? Why do we feel compelled to know what will happen tomorrow and next week? Is there a more reliable way to make a decision other than consulting a crystal ball?
The best and most sure way to know the future is to study the inerrant word of God as spoken in the Bible and by trusting in Him and the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ upon the cross. Of which there are approximately 300 predictions in the Bible from Genesis to Malachi, which were fulfilled to the letter. Only by trusting God and having a relationship with Him can we be assured of a glorious future with Him.
