Who is James Redfield?

James Redfield is the author of The Celestine Prophecy, The Tenth Insight, and several other books. Redfield was born on March 19, 1950 and grew up in Alabama. He often thought of spiritual matters and was raised in the Methodist Church. He later attended Auburn University, where he was influenced by Eastern philosophy.

Following his education, Redfield served as a therapist to troubled and abused teens. During this time, he began to turn to psychic movements in an attempt to help these teens.

Redfield's ideas would eventually be published in his books including The Celestine Prophecy. This book gained high priority in the New Age community and Warner Books bought the rights to the book in 1993. Following the purchase, book sales sky-rocketed and eventually made it to the top spot on the New York Times Best seller List.
