Is the Ouija Board Game Powerful?
In one word? YES! Do not be fooled by the marketing that calls the Ouija a game, because there is nothing playful about it. The "game" is played by asking questions and receiving answers, but not from other players. The Ouija board itself answers questions by directing the oracle (a pointing device which one or two people touch gently with their fingertips while asking questions) to letters and numbers on the board itself.
Some people claim the unconscious mind sends energy through the fingertips to the oracle, which is why it moves across the board without aid. Others have claimed angels move the oracle. Still others claim their dead relatives move it. Personally, I believe demonic forces move it.
I believe this partly through my own experiences with the Ouija, but also because the Bible clearly states that we are not to dabble in the occult (Leviticus 19:31, Deuteronomy 18:9-11).
This may seem hard to believe for many people reading this. Unlike in biblical times, it isn't very "acceptable" to believe that demons have any influence over people. But, according to 2 Corinthians 11:14, Satan himself can appear as an "Angel of light." In other words, Satan can make something dangerous seem harmless, or even as if it is from God. I believe it was entirely his idea to market the Ouija board as a harmless game and sell it in toy stores, to lure in unsuspecting people. Logic being, "after all, if it were dangerous, the toy stores wouldn't sell it, right?" Not necessarily so! Does anyone else remember toy stores selling things like lawn darts and BB guns when you were a child?
Do not underestimate the occult. God warns us against dabbling in occult practices for a reason, and that reason is for our own safety.
